Guanabana, also known as graviola, is a tropical plant native to South America, Central America, the Caribbean and parts of Africa. It is a tree with edible fruits that have sweet, juicy and aromatic flesh. Guanabana is known not only as a delicious fruit but also for its traditional medicinal properties.

Guanabana is a medium-sized tree, reaching a height of 4-6 metres. Its fruits are green, spiny and have a soft, fibrous white flesh that is rich in juice and seeds. Native to tropical areas, it is cultivated mainly in South and Central America, Southeast Asia and Africa.

Dried guanabana leaves are traditionally used to make a tea that helps with stress, insomnia, blood pressure and digestive problems. The ripe fruit is often used to make juices, smoothies or sorbets.

Dosage: 1-2 tablespoons (approx. 5 grams) per 1 litre of water. Leave to infuse for 5 to 10 minutes and sip warm throughout the day.

Warning: Guanabana is not recommended for pregnant women (higher doses may cause contractions) and people taking blood pressure medication and antidepressants.

Long-term use: Long-term use should be consulted with a specialist. It may cause disruption of the intestinal microflora.
