A special limited edition Japanese green tea with high GABA amino acid content from our own production, made from a unique natural mutation of the tea tree that has yellow coloured tea leaves. This world unique grows in only one place in Japan and the yearly production of teas from this cultivar is around 70 kg.
Thanks to our long-standing good relations with growers and producers in Japan, a limited quantity of GABA tea has been produced from the leaves of this tea plant at our initiative.
The tea leaves are organically grown, have a yellow-green colour and give off a pleasant fruity-cream aroma reminiscent of melted butter and peaches. After steaming, pleasant fruity-buttery notes emerge with a fragrance reminiscent of ripe peaches or apricot jam.
The infusion has a yellowish colour and a pleasant light fruity acidity which gradually sweetens in later infusions. The tea can withstand many hearty infusions!
WE RECOMMEND TRYING THIS TEA AS A GYOKURO.
In order for a tea to bear the name GABA (from the English gamma-aminobutyric acid), it must contain at least 150 mg of GABA per 100 g of leaf. In Japan, GABA teas have an average of 200 mg/100 g. An analysis of our GABA GOLDEN GREEN tea determined the GABA amino acid content to be as high as 330 mg/100 g.
Experimental tea from our own production available only in limited quantities.
Since curiosity has no boundaries, we have set aside a part of our production for aging. On the occasion of a birthday, it is available again. Its mature taste is now even fuller and rounder.
GABA tea is a special type of tea that is rich in gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA). This compound is known for its calming effects on the nervous system, helping to promote relaxation, improve sleep quality, and reduce stress. GABA is a naturally occurring neurotransmitter in the human body that plays an essential role in regulating nerve activity.
Nowadays, intensive research is being conducted in Japan on gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) and its positive effects on neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, and multiple sclerosis. Scientific studies have also confirmed that insufficient production of GABA in the human body may be one of the causes of epileptic seizures.
Many health benefits of gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) are already well-documented:
- Calms the nervous system,
- Reduces stress levels and improves sleep,
- Helps alleviate headaches caused by mental overload,
- Relieves depression and anxiety,
- Regulates blood pressure and helps prevent hypertension and heart diseases,
- Enhances brain oxygenation, improving focus, perception, and learning ability,
- Increases collagen production, making the skin supple and less wrinkled,
- Boosts serotonin levels, positively influencing mood and sleep,
- Thanks to its antioxidants and relaxing effects, it helps slow down the aging process
