Ubos (Latin: Spondias mombin), also known as yellow mombin, hog plum or Jamaican plum, is a tropical fruit tree in the Anacardiaceae (cashew family). This tree is native to Central and South America, but is also widely distributed in Africa, Asia and the Caribbean. Ubos is valued not only for its fruit but also for its medicinal properties, which are used in traditional medicine.
It is a massive tree that can grow up to 40 metres high. It has compound leaves, small yellow flowers and fruit that is oblong or round. It is rich in vitamins A, C and K.
In traditional medicine, the inner bark of the tree is used for healing.
