High quality Chinese teapot made of Yixing clay suitable for the Gong Fu Cha tea ceremony in a "pear" shape.

Yixing teapots are handmade teapots that originate from the Yixing area in China's Jiangsu province. They are made from a special clay called Zisha, which is known for its unique properties.

They are particularly popular among tea lovers who appreciate both their aesthetics and functional properties. They are most often used for the preparation of black tea, oolongs or pu-erh, as they keep high temperature very well.

It is recommended to use it for one type of tea. The surface is not glazed, allowing a natural interaction between the tea and the clay. The clay absorbs the aroma of the tea, making the teapot "smell" and gradually improving the taste of the drink.

With proper care, it can serve for generations, gaining a more beautiful appearance with time.

Capacity: 125 ml

Types of Yixing clay:

  • Zisha (purple clay) - The most well-known type, variable in shades.
  • Hongni (red clay) - Has a finer texture, suitable for finer teas.
  • Duan ni (yellow/beige clay) - Contains more minerals and produces interesting colour effects.

Use and care:

  • Before first use - wash with warm water and "wipe it off" with tea.
  • Cleaning - do not use detergents, just rinse with clean water.
  • Storage - after rinsing and cleaning allow to dry completely to prevent mold.
